Summer is slowly winding down—hopefully you had a chance to recharge your batteries for the 2016-2017 school year!
We are pleased to announce that membership is open for 2016 – 2017 school year! You may have already received an email from the Virginia State Reading Association (VSRA) since the Richmond Area Reading Council (RARC) is part of VSRA. Your annual membership is for both organizations.
Your membership in RARC gives you free admission to our local RARC conferences and a discounted registration fee for the annual VSRA conference.
Our RARC board has already been hard at work planning for this year and we have some exciting new ideas for the year. We look forward to collaborating with YOU as we engage students, parents, teachers, and the community to promote a life-long love for literacy!
To become a member of RARC/VSRA in 2016-17:
- Go to www.vsra.org
- Click on membership tab.
- Click on become a member and complete the membership form. All starred fields must be completed. Select a local council (Richmond Area) and/or dual or tertiary councils.
- Members can pay via PayPal or by check. On-line payment is encouraged.
- Members must click on the SUBMIT button (scroll down to bottom of page) in order for information to be recorded in the VSRA database.
- Members are asked to use personal emails, to prevent VSRA emails from being blocked or going to spam.
Checks, if this is the only payment option available to a member, will be accepted from individuals who mail their checks directly to VSRA. Individuals may submit personal or school checks, including a completed printed membership form, to Anne Perdue, PO Box 34, Mint Spring, VA 24463. Membership is not complete until payment is received. (Note: Directions are included on the membership page if you choose this option.)
Don’t delay – cross RARC Membership off your “to-do” list before going back to school!
